About Us
Both Chris and I grew up in multiple dog households. Chris's family surrounded themselves with various mixed breeds from shelters and my family always had purebreds and mainly sporting dogs so our similarities and differences have combined to create a knowledgeable and experience foundation as dog owners and breeders. My grandpa as well as my dad owned and hunted with a variety of gun dogs and that love of being in the outdoors with a faithful companion was passed down to me. Chris always enjoyed playing with his dogs and even trained and competed in Frisbee catching competitions with one of his dogs as a teenager. The blend of the two backgrounds was what led us to choose the Labrador retriever for the Labrador is as friendly and amiable as the storybook mutt and as intelligent and good looking as a bird dog can be.

I also grew up owning and showing Morgan horses. I was very fortunate to have family friends that were horse breeders and I learned about pedigree research, breeding practices, and training through my work with young foals. I loved the show ring and the competition, as well as the fun that could be had with all those ringside "kindred spirits."
So people ask how we "got into this" and I guess the answer is that it's in our blood and our souls so we couldn't imagine a different life. The dogs are our family and our passion. We were inspired to bring our first Labrador Cuffy home because of Chris's childhood companion Boomer. Cuffy brought with him a zest for life and a broad smile and we couldn't resist adding another and another and another and ............
